Retainers

When booking an appointment, a retainer is required. If booking for a single appointment, a $100 retainer is due at the time of booking. If booking ahead for multiple appointments, a $250 retainer is due at the time of booking. Retainers are applied to the price upon completion of your tattoo. If your project requires multiple sessions, they are carried over to your last appointment, and then applied upon completion.

A retainer is required for each individual project booked. For example, if we’re working on a project on “x” and you make an appointment for project “y” an additional retainer will be needed for project “y”.

Retainers can be made via Venmo, CashApp, or by cash, in person with Josh. Please note, you do not have an official appointment unless a retainer is placed. Retainers are non-refundable, as the retainer Is reserving my time and a spot in the schedule for your session.

All appointments with me start at 10am Tuesday through Saturday, I am not in the shop Sunday/Monday.

Booking inquiries will be responded to within 1 to 3 days, once you’re locked in as a client, you’ll receive my booking phone number for all inquires and communication going forward.

The rate for my tattooing services are $180/hr, with a minimum of $180.

The rate for coverup work is $200/hr.

All appointments are cash only, except with the exception of retainers.

Consultations are always free, and encouraged for more complex or larger projects to discuss your ideas, flow, scheduling, and pricing. Coverup will always require a consultation due to the more complex nature of work required.

All designs are shown the day of your appointment before we start our session. I do not send designs out before this, due to the structure of my schedule on when I design for appointments. When reviewing the work in my portfolio, and booking with me, it is expected that I have creative freedom while working within the scope of your references, wants, and ideas discussed at the time of booking.

Minor changes made the day of the appointment to the design can be done if needed, at the hourly rate.

Major alterations to the design that exceed a reasonable amount of time and will cut into the session, will require to be rescheduled and a new retainer must be placed, forfeiting the original retainer.

Please arrive to your appointment clean. Be mindful that we are working in a studio full of other artist and clients. Foul smells and strong body oder is not ideal when working close together during your session. It is also important to practice good hygiene leading into your appointment, as this is where infection control starts.

Cell Phone Usage – please bring headphones, and avoid making/answering phone calls while on the floor. We’re a large studio with many artist, concentrating on tattooing permanent pieces, distractions aren’t cool.

Any client causing a distraction – rude, prejudice, or acting out of order will be asked to leave.

Guests – space is limited, please do not bring more than 1 guest with you during your session, if arrangements need to be made that exceed this, please let me know.

If rescheduling an appointment, I require a 72 hour (3 days) notice ahead of time, honoring your retainer as long as the new appointment is rebooked within 24 hours of the notice. I allow 1 reschedule honoring the retainer, if appropriate notice is given, before a new retainer needs to be applied.

If rescheduling an appointment within the 72 hour time frame, a new retainer must be placed when setting up a new appointment, forfeiting the original. It is extremely difficult to fill an appointment last minute.

If canceling an appointment, your retainer Is automatically forfeited unless rescheduling (see “Rescheduling”).

If you’re running more than 15 minutes late, without proper notice, it is considered a “no-call, no-show”, and retainer will be forfeited. Please provide notice if you’re running late before the start of your appointment to avoid this. If you’re running 30 minutes or more behind, the session may need to be rescheduled at my discretion, with a new retainer in place, forfeiting the original without proper notice.

Proper notice is a phone call, message, or text before the start of your appointment stating you’ll be late with an approximate ETA.

If you fail to show for your appointment, it will be considered a “No-Call, No-Show”, and retainer will be forfeited along with being able to rebook with me.

1 free touchup is allowed within the 3 months following your appointment due to any technical issues on my end.

Touchups are not free for Fingers, Toes, & Hand Tattoos, as these areas are prone to premature fading and healing issues.

Any touchups required due to improper healing, poor aftercare, or client neglect can be done at the rate of $100/hr.

A valid physical photo ID must be present at the time of your appointment showing that you are 18+ of age. It is illegal in NYS to tattoo anyone under 18 regardless of parental consent per Section 260.21 of New York State Penal Law.

I hold the right to refuse services to anyone in breach of the Client/Booking policy. It is expected that before booking, you have read and agreed to the above stated policy.

Please note, in addition, I have the right to refuse services for any work requested related to hate, sexism, prejudice, and gang affiliations.

I have to right to refuse service to anyone pregnant, under the influence, and disrepectful.

How to prepare for my session?

I always tell clients that infection control starts with how you treat your body leading up to the time you’re in the chair. Please shower the day of your appointment, before your session. Arrive clean and free of foul odors.

Leave the area we’ll be working unshaved, if you accidentally cut the area, I cannot tattoo over it.

For about 2-3 weeks leading up to your appointment, stay well hydrated with water – in addition, please keep the area moisturized with a hydrating lotion for about the same amount of time, this helps with sensitivity, redness, and easier application.

If interested in numbing cream, please see the section below.

If you’re interested in using numbing cream, I only working with the brand – Zensa. This can be purchased on Amazon.

  • Lasts 2-3 hours and is safe to reapply on broken skin to extend numbing sensation.
  • Natural pH formulation is safe to use on the most sensitive areas.
  • Does not contain vasoconstrictors that will affect the settling of ink.
  • Vitamin E acts as an anti-inflammatory to boost the healing process.
  • Vegan & steroid-free.
  • Maximum strength 5% lidocaine.

Please be aware, that numbing cream should be tested prior to full application use as adverse reactions can happen. Please bring the packaging with you to your appointment. If using, please reach out on how I have my clients apply it.

Please avoid any aspirin usage for the 4 days leading up to your appointment as it contains blood thinning properties, which can make it difficult to tattoo.

Avoid alcohol and drug consumption for 4 days leading up to your appointment, as this can have the same effects and cause poor application and healing.

Avoid spray tans and sun bathing before your session.

Please bring valid photo ID confirming your DOB.

We have an ATM on location, but plan ahead as all sessions aside from retainers are cash only.

If you’re on any medication, please inform me of what you’re on as many medications can cause issues with application and healing.

You can absolutely bring a friend, but please limit it to 1 guest as seating space on the floor is limited.

All guest must be 18+ to be allowed back on the shop floor.

I encourage you to bring something to stay hydrated with and to snack on, especially for longer sittings.

If you have any mobility restrictions, allergies, restrictions, Auto Immune Disorders, or health issues please inform me.

** Required: If you have Bloodborne Pathogen Diseases: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV, etc,. – please inform me so I am aware. My partner has severe auto immune issues, and i need to take extra precautions when working with clients with such. This information will be discreet and confidential. **
